The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Education Policies for Global Development (GLOBED) is an international master’s program focusing on globalization, education, and international development. It has been awarded an Erasmus+ grant for the 2023-2029 period, following previous funding cycles from 2014-2019 and 2018-2024. Launched in September 2015, GLOBED aims to fill the gap in global education policy studies, as most European postgraduate programs either overlook this area or incorporate it within broader International Development Studies. By integrating research centers across Europe, the program promotes an interdisciplinary approach and provides expertise from various regions of the world. Funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus Lifelong Learning Programme, GLOBED is developed by a consortium of four European universities. These include Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (coordinating institution), University of Glasgow, University of Bremen, and University of Cyprus.

From September 2024, the GLOBED programme will start again offering Erasmus Mundus scholarships for the best ranked students during the selection process. In concrete, the Consortium will be able to offer up to 24 scholarships per edition, including regional scholarships and scholarships for students with special needs.

All scholarship holders, regardless of their residence or nationality, will receive 1.400 € per month along the two-years programme. The Erasmus+ scholarship includes subsistence, mobility and installation costs. It also covers the registration at the four universities of the consortium and a worldwide health insurance. Students who are not selected during the Erasmus Mundus call can still apply as self-funded students. We encourage applicants to check all the available scholarships in their origin countries during the application and selection process.
