Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Artificial Intelligence Scholarship Program 2025-2026 (Fully Funded)
The EMAI Programme is a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (120 ECTS) in Artificial Intelligence (AI), offering theoretical and practical knowledge in AI systems. It is hosted by four top European universities: UPF (Barcelona), Sapienza (Rome), Radboud (Netherlands), and Ljubljana (Slovenia), with partnerships including UCL and 12 global industrial partners. The program combines world-leading research with industry collaboration for a comprehensive AI education.
Cycle:
- 1st period: 15/11/2024 – 31/12/2024 at 23:59 (CET) for candidates interested in Erasmus Mundus Scholarships (EMS).
- 2nd period: 01/01/2025 – 18/03/2025 at 23:59 (CET) for tuition fee waiver candidates.
- 3rd period: 19/03/2025 – 05/06/2025 at 23:59 (CET) for worldwide self-funded candidates.
- 4th period: 06/06/2025 – 06/07/2025 at 23:59 (CET) exclusively for EU self-funded candidates.
Selection Procedure:
The Selection procedure for all EMAI candidates is organised as follows:
- Pre-screening phase: the received applications are checked for administrative validation.
- Pre-selection: a first analysis will be performed to validate the minimum requirements.
- Selection Ranking: all eligible candidates will be ranked by the EMAI Academic Programme Committee according to the following criteria:
- Academic Excellence, including average grades, ranking of the university of origin, type of previous degree(s), and motivation letter/presentation video.
- Practical and Professional Experience, including richness of extracurricular and professional activities.
- Other Criteria such as inclusiveness and added value.
- Interviews of shortlisted candidates: interviews will last 30-40 minutes and will be conducted online.
- Final selection: students will be selected according to the ranking and the outcomes of the interviews.
Candidates will be informed of their selection on the following dates:
1st period (EMS): before 15/03/2025.
2nd period (Fee-waivers): before 24/04/2025.
3rd period (non-EU self-funded): before 10/07/2025.
4th period (EU self-funded): before 31/07/2025.
Scholarships & Fees:
Full Erasmus Mundus Scholarships (EMS)
The Erasmus+ programme provides EU-funded scholarships to students who have been selected by the consortia. The EMS will cover the programme tuition fees and provide a monthly non-taxable stipend of €1400 for the full length of the programme (24 months) for travel, installation and subsistence costs.
Full Fee Waivers
If you are not offered an EMS, we may offer you a Full Fee Waiver. A Full Fee Waiver covers the costs of the Tuition Fees for your first and second year of study.
Tuition fees
The tuition fee is €9,000/year.
Degree Awarded and Accreditation:
The programme relies on the following nationally accredited degrees included in the catalogue of the partner HEIs:
- UPF: Master in Intelligent and Interactive Systems
- Sapienza: Master in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and Master in Engineering in Computer Science
- RU: Master in Computing Science
- UL: Master in Computer and Information Science
The EMAI expects a joint degree to be delivered by the four partner universities. However, double or multiple degrees would be issued by the relevant partners during the national accreditation processes. In this case, the degree will be issued by the rules and regulations of each partner university.
